Mum taught me that and it helped my friend in school (here in Canada) get the help they needed because their foster care home was abusing and neglecting them and racist towards them. Mum packed me extra food to share, bought both of us a fancy reusable water bottle and encouraged me to share what I know with them as to what the rights of a child was. When they realized what they were going through was not right and with my help they had the courage to tell a SAFE ADULT. I stayed with them as they told our teacher and principal - then they had me stay with them as they told a social worker or children authority (here it's called children's aid). My friend was in temporary foster care as their family was in a hard times but the home that was supposed to be safe was not. The social worker adult thanked me for being a true friend and I told her that it's what my mom taught me about rights and the worker told me "well say thank you to your mom too, you both helped a child in need that might not have ever spoke up". I was 8 years old.
