Jemila Massiah-Gilbert is a School Guidance Counsellor, Certified Mediator in civil non- familymatters, and a Mental Health Psychotherapist, specialized in Mental Health Disorders. Born and raised in Tobago, she completed her Primary and Secondary education here, then made the decision to migrate to the USA for her Tertiary education, where she spent a number of years at school and also working in the field of Mental Health.
Mrs. Massiah-Gilbert always had the intention to eventually return home to bring more awareness to Mental Health and how it impacts a person and by extension, society, and also to work with children. She made the decision to marry the two passions by immersing herself in the field of Education, where she would be able to help young ones understand and manage mental health issues and learn different life skills, so that when they grow into adults, they will be better equipped to mentally and emotionally cope with life struggles and be more resilient when necessary. She also owns and runs her private practice in Tobago called Massiah Wellness, offering the services of both individual and group therapy, couples therapy, workshops, and also sells Mental Health items aimed at holistic growth and healing.
