Children's Authority says respect child's right to privacy

Date: 2015-09-16

The Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (CA) wishes to advise the public that once the Barrackpore teenager was referred to the Authority as a child in need of care and protection, we responded by providing  consistent and strong support to the child.

We have also been providing support to the other six (6) children in the family.

The Authority is treating this matter with the sensitivity and confidentiality which it requires.

Given the adverse impact of the publicity upon the child, we urge all members of the public to respect the child’s right to privacy and confidentiality and afford her the opportunity to heal.

We have also been providing support to the other six (6) children in the family.
