Children’s Authority investigating report of abuse
The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago says its investigation process is underway after it was notified by the Child Protection Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, of a report of child abuse
The child, whose father is pleading for her return, was removed by the Child Protection Unit of the Police Service, pursuant to Section 45 of the Children Act.
The Authority assures the public that its processes are child-friendly, family focussed and respectful of the rights of parents and children. The matter is being treated with the sensitivity and confidentiality which it deserves.
The public is reminded that child protection is everyone's responsibility and reports of abuse can be made to the Police or the Authority's hotline at 996 or 800-2014.
